A live, working centre that keeps growing
HomeCo Caringbah, in the Sutherland Shire, is the largest bulky-goods centre in the Shire. Three retail levels above a working basement, anchored by tenants like Harvey Norman, Freedom, Fantastic Furniture and JB Hi-Fi, with hundreds of customers passing through every day.
What Lotos delivered
Lotos’s scope on the redevelopment runs across three vertical levels of structure — the basement, the ground floor and the new Level 1 childcare slab — under a single Form / Reinforcement / Concrete contract. That means we manage the bar, the formwork, the concrete supply and placement, and the finishing as one program rather than as separate trades.
The Level 1 work is the headline. The new suspended childcare slab covers a 1,650 square metre footprint, sized to take 115 tonnes of conventional reinforcement and 480 cubic metres of concrete. The mix was enhanced with a waterproofing admixture that becomes part of the concrete itself rather than a coating that can fail — exactly the kind of durability play that makes sense for a centre that will be carrying foot traffic, water, and the occasional accident for the next several decades.
