A neighbourhood centre for one of Sydney’s newest suburbs
The Construction Certificate scope describes the centre as Woolworths plus seven specialty tenancies — including a BWS liquor and food and drink offerings — a kiosk, customer amenities, an outdoor dining area, and 191 at-grade car spaces. Single-level, walkable, and built around a clear front-of-house arrival experience.
It is the kind of centre that grows with its catchment. Melonba was only gazetted in November 2020 and is still adding houses faster than retail can keep up; this build is the start of the local-amenity layer that will define how the community feels in five years.
What Lotos is delivering
Lotos Concretors holds the structural concrete package on this build. Site works started with the parts that nobody sees once the centre is open — the below-ground water storage chambers that handle the site’s stormwater obligations, and the boundary retaining walls that get the building footprint up and out of the ground.
From there, the program rolls into footings, slab-on-ground, the supermarket and specialty tenancy slabs, and the external car park pavements that have to handle Woolworths trolley flows, customer cars and back-of-house deliveries.
